The forests are just like rivers and mountains for us, which provide us everything for our wealth. And what we are doing? We are just destroying at a higher rate for our own sake.
Forests are very important for us because they provide useful things like fuel, grass, wood and timber. Timber is extensively used for making houses and wood generally for furniture. Forests are the home for the animals and we are indirectly destroying their home. Forests are also rich in various kinds of raw materials such as bamboo, rubber, gum etc. Various medicines are produced from the trees also rich in honey, tanning material and also herbs. Herbal medicines now a days have become very popular and they have shaped into a big industry.
The main reason why we should not destroy the forests is that it checks soil erosion and helps in controlling of floods by checking the fast flow of water. It keeps us environment-friendly and also keeps the air humid. They are said to be the domain for wild animals. It is our duty to preserve them so that they can live a better life. We should never harm them.
Many people around us want to escape from this modern world. So a forest is a better place for them. Government is doing its own work but its our duty also to preserve the nature. Government has undertaken various projects regarding the forest prosperity. For instance in Dehradun a specialized training regarding the same is given to the officers. Some of the students are opting as their subjects for learning about preserving forests. Even the villagers are making more steps towards preserving their beautiful biodiversity.
So a one step made by each and every individual could improve this up to an extent.
